The Pear Tree Hotel is one of the oldest (if not the oldest) hostelries in Ripley, having served refreshment to the community since 1871! A traditional Sunday roast is as old as time itself. Well, not quite… While some claim that its origin goes back to the Industrial Revolution, others dispute that it predates it by centuries, going back to medieval times. Wherever it came from, we’re grateful for it.

We are super excited to announce that Derbyshire Soul Collective will be going The Pear Tree to bring a monthly night of Northern Soul and Motown. DJ’s Franner & Mac will be spinning the vinyl from 7.30pm – 12.30pm on the 2nd Saturday of each month beginning on the 11th September. All proceeds are generously being donated by the DJ’s to charities Gears Of Goodwill (for the homeless) and The Ashgate Hospice. There will be no door tax and everybody is welcome.
